Diamond Key is a great family place too! Although fishing is Diamond Key Lodge's main attraction, there is something here for every member of the family who loves the outdoors. July and August are a super time for families. Whether jumping off rocks, or laughing in the paddle boat, it is simply a great experience for kids. They’ll love the games room and you can show them stars like they have never seen with the high end telescope.   If you are looking for a family vacation or to fish while your family relaxes at a lodge or resort, Diamond Key is a great spot.

For teenagers, there is lots of place to roam as we have a games room, long shore-line on the Georgian Bay and a great walking trail.    Also, there is a great jumping rock (with deep water) within swimming distance of the lodge.   The waters around our lodge are very protected (behind islands) and we have a fun little paddleboat, but you can also arrange to rent Kayaks if you want to introduce your kids to kayaking – this has been a big hit for guests of all ages.

We find that families return year after year to enjoy the natural unspoiled beauty of the area, to fish or just explore the scenic shoreline and cruise the pristine blue-green waters. Kids can fish right off the dock and be quite successful.   Always fun to watch a kid screaming and giggling with their first big Pike or Bass.  For some reason (go figure), kids just love Bass and the Georgian Bay is full of them - big ones too.
We offer promotions in the summer months to encourage you to rent a cabin and introduce the kids to fishing. These can be quite economical, especially if you have a large family.  In addition, for those with young kids, it is nice to have the privacy of your own cabin. The communal BBQ is great for groups of families, who can meet up for pot-luck dinners.

The Kids will never forget this experience and neither will you. We have many father/son and father/daughter combinations that come back year after year. In a world where life is too busy, it is simply nice to get away.  For a family vacation in Ontario, we would be pleased to welcome you as our guests.
